Review: Vortex Victory—$2.99 Vortex Victory
Release date: July 14, 2009
Distributor/Developer: Ahoy Software Inc.
Genre: Game
Version 1.0 tested on a 16GB iPhone 3GS

Vortex Victory is a rather simple game that works by tilting your iPhone to attempt to place planets in little craters in space surrounding a vortex that acts like a black hole, trying to pull in your planets. It’s a basic balance game and puzzle, and as you progress through the levels, it becomes more difficult with the craters moving and other obstacles.

Overall, it’s little more than a time-waster and not a very impressive game for the iPhone or iPod touch, and at $2.99, I think it’s drastically overpriced for what it offers. I’ve embedded a gallery below, but unless you really love balance puzzles, I’d advise against this game.

Review Rating: Boo (would qualify for Meh if it were only $0.99 or free).
