Crowd Fusion’s view & Amazon’s apology and acknowledgement for the need for clearer communication regarding their outage

Amazon finally came forward with a post-mortem on their outage from last week. Lots of people are discussing it over on Techmeme. I’m glad to hear their report after last week’s outage. We at Crowd Fusion were affected by the outage, but we managed to triage the situation effectively thanks to a West Coast failover plan, and had under an hour of total down time on only one of our customers. We’re sticking with Amazon post this problem, and we wrote up the full story of why on our site.
