New iPhone apps: TomTom, Snood, and Gpush (maybe)

Snood has arrived for the iPhone and iPod touch. I just grabbed it and played one game. Here’s the direct link for buying it on the App Store for $3.99. I’ll review this after I have some time to play it.

The long-awaited TomTom GPS has also arrived for $99.99 (direct iTunes link). I’m going to try to get a review copy so that I can compare it to Navigon MobileNavigator GPS for the iPhone, which I previously reviewed, was recently updated, and which is still available for $69.99 until August 31st (direct iTunes link). Lots of people seem excited about this release.

And finally, Gpush, the Gmail push notification app that was in the App Store then pulled by the company that made it so that they could improve their servers, was supposed to be live already, but it’s not there yet… has arrived for $0.99 (direct iTunes link). I’ll have a review up of it soon too. UPDATE: For now, I would advise against buying Gpush. I downloaded it well over 2 hours ago and it hasn’t successfully managed to send me a single notification. I’ve sent tweets to the company behind the app and sent them a support ticket and I’ve received no reply. Buyer beware.

ANOTHER UPDATE: I got Gpush working by setting up a new Gmail account and forwarding the emails from my Google Apps account to that account.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Gpush. Not sure if I should get it or not.

Love to know if you can get hold of a review copy of Tom Tom – I haven’t had any luck as of yet. Highly sought-after app!
