Google Latitude comes to the iPhone

Remember in the movie Real Genius when Val Kilmer redirects the giant government laser that he helped design to explodify his professor’s house with popcorn?

Well, Google Latitude is basically the modern day equivalent of the targeting system he used, except it’s controlled by the all-seeing eye of Google. Google has cleverly tricked us all into telling it where we are at all times, ostensibly so that you can spot where your friends are on a map (see my pal Kevin C. Tofel and myself on the map accompanying this post).

Well, now Google has made it even easier to track where we all are by releasing Google Latitude as a location-aware web app for the iPhone.

I can’t wait until Google Laser comes online! ;-)
