iPhone 3G S arrives June 19th

I just ordered myself Apple’s newly announced iPhone 3G S in the less expensive 16GB size and in white instead of black (so it will match my PSP and my DS Lite). I had planned on getting the 8GB model for only $99, but my pre-WWDC 2009 predictions were all off, including that one, and the 8GB 3G $99 iPhone lacked the video feature that I really want.

At first discovering that this was the case, I didn’t think I would be getting a new iPhone right now. Fortunately, I was never on contract with AT&T, so entering a contract now isn’t a problem. After Kristin and I talked about the cost of the device a bit, I realized I could sell my current iPhone 4GB and my Flip Mino, especially since the new iPhone with its video recording capabilities will be replacing both devices. I checked on Gazelle.com, a service that I really like, and found out that the two devices together would grab me $151, knocking the out-of-pocket cost of the iPhone 3G S down to a more reasonable $49. So I ordered it.

The iPhone 3G S should be arriving here by the 19th, so let’s hope the Apple shipping fairies send it a wee bit early so that I can get it the night of the 18th and present you all with a nice write up, first hands-on, and then review over at Obsessable.
