Samuel Axon at Obsessable got his hands on the new Sony Vaio P ultraportable and wrote up a Sony Vaio P hands-on. Check it out. The device looks pretty cool to me, but at $899 it’s a bit too pricey to be considered a netbook, imho. Also, running as it’s running Vista, I’d wait to see how Windows 7 pans out and see if there will be a Windows 7 version on the horizon.

Obsessable also has a product page for the Sony Vaio P with a bunch of the specifications. After CES, I think we’ll have to stick it in a comparator with some things like the OQO 2 and some of the best netbooks and see how it fares.

Make sure you check keep an eye on all of Obsessable’s CES 2009 coverage for more cool hands-on features and videos.
