September 9th, 2008 Apple Event Predictions

I tend to agree with this Wired article. The biggest announcement that we will see come out of tomorrow’s Apple Event will be iTunes Subscriptions. Alongside this announcement, there will be a new version of iTunes, iTunes 8, which was already sort of leaked, and, of course, Kevin Rose will have been proven correct with his prediction of new iPods and especially totally revamped iPod Nanos. Oh, look Kevin Rose did a prediction post, too.

Anyway, I’m sorry to say that I don’t think my purchase of an HP Tablet actually helped push forward the release of the nigh-mythological Apple Tablet that everyone has been rumoring would be announced forever. I mean, me buying a Tablet PC after holding out for years would by my personal estimation be the exact bad-luck nexus for Apple to release the tablet device I’ve been dreaming of for years in a move to crush my soul and all my gadget-lust hopes, but, it’s not happening. Just new iPods and a new subscription service, which will be the same 180 from Jobs’ previous proclamation that “We won’t do subscriptions” as when he once said “We won’t do video on the iPod” oh so many years ago.
