Big Brother After Dark

I’ve been a Big Brother fan since season 2; I even blogged about it for TV Squad for a while. It’s by far the best reality TV show out there, because it gets rid of all the “hey we’re trying to survive even though there’s a camera crew waiting to help us at any moment” pretense and isolates the people participating from any contact with the outside world. If you really want to see what strange creatures we humans are, lock us up in a house with a bunch of cameras and a bunch of strangers and pit us against one another. I used to really be into The Real World, until it became a pretty people only party fest with nothing else going on.

In any case, this season is the 10th season of Big Brother, but it’s the first time that I’ve had Showtime (because Kristin is blogging for TV Squad now and covering several Showtime shows), and right now, as I’m drinking my morning coffee, going through emails, and combing over Mahalo to see what’s going on with the world, I have Big Brother After Dark that we recorded last night playing. It’s clear that they know they are currently being filmed for Showtime. It’s also, unlike the edited show, like a cage full of excited birds. They’re all talking, often over one another, and a few of them are clearly showboating for the live audience. It’s interesting to watch the show this way, because you have to decipher what’s going on from this cacaphonous noise. Kristin and I have already figured out a few bits that I’m sure she’ll blog on TV Squad eventually. I’ll avoid giving away any spoilers, but if you want to know what’s going on, make sure you check out Mahalo’s Big Brother 10 Spoilers page.

Ooo, always wanted to see that livefeed! We’re regular watched of BB as well. I love how they had to STRESS that “this time no one has any connection to each other in any way”… that hasn’t happened since season 3, jeez!
