Kristin Sample: Author of North Shore / South Shore

My multitalented wife has written a book. A novel, to be exact. She’s currently revising bits and pieces of it and preparing it for a publisher or an agent. Over the weekend, I helped her set up a blog. Kristin will be using the blog to promote and discuss issues surrounding the journey to publishing her novel, North Shore / South Shore. If you want to know what it’s about, I recommend that you read this post: Kristin Sample: An abstract:

Here’s how I would explain what my novel is about. It needs tightening but it’s what I have right now. I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately. If I can write something good now, it can be what I use to describe my book in future emails, meetings,…maybe even the occasional power lunch. (Although I don’t think I’m in danger of having to attend any power lunches in the near future.)

If you have any contacts in the area of literary agents or publishers, please point them to her blog and reach out to us. Thanks!

Now, to teach her how to use Twitter…

  1. Before you will find an agent or publisher for a book, you will need someone who has a mailing list, and a copyrighter to create a buzz to make people stand up and pay attention.

Here is what I would do, on her blog, I would put a nice banner, make it bright and catchy, put her name in lights so to speak. Next I would make sure you have good stats on her blog, then buy 500K Visitors from a popunder company, this should be under 300 bucks, before you launch the popunders, take a screenshot of her alexa ranking and save it.

After the 500k visitors, your alexa should be a LOT lower if you get them all done within 1 month.

Then, I would write a Press Release touting the “popularity” of the soon to be finished book by the soon to be “acclaimed” writer and show the alexa ranking on YOUR site (link press release to this site) where you have screen shots from the before and after alexa rankings.

You are not buying the popunders for visitors, but purely for the good alexa ranking change in 30 days.

This gives the apperance of extreme popularity and anticipation.

After this is done, (through press release). you will probably have them looking for you. Make sure the media can contact her for interviews on the press release.

You have my email from this comment, so if you do not understand, email me and I will explain it further.
