iPhone Casing Warping…
So, my little-over-a-week-old iPhone has developed a problem. The casing on the right side near the bottom of the bugger has begun to warp. I noticed it when I was browsing the web this morning and the black little cover at the bottom was clicking slightly. Here’s a picture:

If you go to the picture page and click on the large version of the pic you can really see it.
I have never dropped this phone. I have never ill-treated this phone. It’s just another bit of faulty Apple product design in effect, just like on my MacBook. Grr…
Is anyone else seeing this? I’m resetting my iPhone to factory settings and trading this in this weekend. Should I stick with the iPhone or get an iPod Touch?
UPDATE: Traded in for a new iPhone. Took 45 minutes of sitting around waiting for the Apple Store to get their act together, despite being told on the phone that I *didn’t* need to schedule a trip to the Genius Bar, etc. Grr. Anyway, all is right as rain now…

is it the metal casing part or the plastic part? I just got one 2 days ago, but no warping yet.

oh, nevermind, i skimmed too quickly, I can see its the plastic part.

Actually, it’s both the plastic and the metal part.

Bad luck, I guess. Had one since day one and no issues.

It seems to me that the iphone is just not very tough, I sell all over the web stories of people breaking them. I think I will stick with my Blackberry, it seems to have better email capabilities and I have dropped it about 1/2 a dozen times including down concrete stairs and skidded it across a parking lot, with no damage.

looks like I have a little warp on the top right hand corner now too. Its not too bad, but its the silver part that’s not flush against the aluminum part. I don’t know if I wanna go through looking like I have OCD at the apple store to get a new one though. Plus its a 4GB so who knows if they have any left to swap out.

phi, I have a 4GB too and when I went to exchange it, they had PLENTY of them. Just call ahead to the Apple Store, tell them you need to exchange it, and tell them that you need to schedule an appointment at the Genius Bar to do so since it’s a phone with a contract that needs to be migrated.
