iPod Touch or iPhone sans AT&T service?
So which is the better gadget at $299? A 4GB iPhone activated sans AT&T service contract (there are numerous ways) or an 8GB iPod Touch?
Here’s the list of things that the iPhone has that the iPod Touch doesn’t: Built-in Camera, Built-in Mic, Built-in Speakers, Stock widget, Weather Widget, Note pad, Mail.app, Bluetooth, and Google Maps, but no streaming YouTube functionality, as it doesn’t work over WiFi without the AT&T goodness.
iPod Touch has YouTube functionality, a smaller size, and, rumor has it, unactivated Bluetooth functionality inside.
So which is the cooler gadget for an old school gadget tinkerer like myself? Please discuss in the comments.

Well, i would personally say the iPhone. I am a little jaded since I have an iPhone and don’t plan on getting a touch…
The benefit of the phone part for me, was that I was just sick of carrying my phone and ipod with me everywhere.
I have an 8GB iphone and have not run into any space related problems yet. I usually roll with a good deal of music and 2 movies or so, which will probably be some TV episodes once we get into TV season.
Granted, you are going to be working with less space…but you do have the options to delete videos through the iPhone interface, and with the new Wifi iTunes store you could add more content or watch videos off a web server…
Another point…Yes, edge is pretty slow…It’s not dial up, but it is slow…But it is seriously everywhere. You can go out the sticks and still get your email and check something online. I think that is cool.

iPod touch. someone is gonna crack a voip app like Skype for it, as well as the bluetooth. And seriously, do you think that Apple is going to create a whole new device? The thing is built off of the iPhone, so im sure it has all that iPhoney goodness hiding inside waiting for someone to extract.

…an abacus. You can’t go wrong with one of those. You get to do all this touching and sliding. It’s awesome!

convert flv file to mobile phone, iPod,iPhone, Pocket PC, PSP, or Zune
YouTubeRobot.com today announces YouTube Robot 2.0, a tool that enables you to download video from YouTube.com onto your PC, convert flv files to various video formats to watch it when you are on the road on mobile devices like mobile phone, iPod, iPhone, Pocket PC, PSP, or Zune.
YouTube Robot allows you to search for videos using keywords or browse video by category, author, channel, language, tags, etc. When you find something noteworthy, you can preview the video right in YouTube Robot and then download it onto the hard disk drive. The speed, at which you will be downloading, is very high: up to 5 times faster than other software when you download a single file and up to 4 times faster when you download multiple files at a time.
Manual download is not the only option with YouTube Robot. You may as well schedule the download and conversion tasks to be executed automatically, even when you are not around. Downloading is followed by conversion to the format of your choice and uploading videos to a mobile device (if needed). For example, you can plug in iPod, select the video, go to bed, and when you wake up next morning, your iPod will be ready to play new YouTube videos.
