Father’s Day in the sun

Yesterday, Kristin and I went out to Long Island to celebrate Father’s Day with Curt and the entire family. We had a good time. Went swimming in the pool for the first time this summer, and Thatcher went swimming for the first time in her life. She was a natural. We held her over the water and she automatically began sweeping her front paws in a dog-paddling motion. She jumped in once and swam back and forth between Kristin and myself several times. We kept showing her where the steps were in the shallow end, so she knew how to get out.

It was a nice sunny day that really made me look forward to two weeks from now when I’ll be on the first real vacation I’ve had in two years, chilling on the beach at Turks and Caicos.
