Wii Boxing Workout Plateau

I am stuck on a Wii boxing plateau. Everyday for my workout, as I am boxing opponents, I beat Elisa, then I go up to Matt, who beats me, then I beat Elisa, then Matt beats me, etc etc. I’m averaging 23-26 punching bags in training mode. I’ve been hovering around the level in the graph above for about a month now.
The good news is that I keep working out and I’m building muscle and losing fat. I just wish I could punch through this plateau. I’m getting sick of Elisa and Matt.

I was in the same boat but I just beat Matt last night for the first time (and three or four times after just for good measure). The biggest thing is to get Matt’s timing down. I found the easiest way is to dodge to one side (right for me) at the beginning of the match and hold it there for a second or two. Dodge back left just before he punches, and things will do the slow down for a few seconds. Throw two or three punches, and go back to dodging until you get a slow down and repeat. If I try to throw more than two or three punches, he’ll recover and cream me. The good thing is that when you ring his bell, his meter goes down pretty quickly (glass jaw?). But, he does punch faster than anyone else so once he is on the offensive, start blocking and look out!
To keep from having to fight Elisa over and over again if you lose to Matt, hit pause and “Start Over” at the end of the match before the “You Lose” comment comes up.
One last thing that helped me was to watch a couple YouTube videos of people cleaning his clock (just search for ‘wii boxing Matt’).
Good Luck!

It’s all about dodging and counterpunching. You need to work on the dodging section in Wii training, and you need to hit Matt with more than 1 punch at a time. Dodge him, and counter punch with a 1-2 combo.
That’s the key, is dodging.

I was stuck at last week but now got over Matt for good (now about 17xx). My tip for you is:
1. When Matt throws combos (and you get hit), lean backwards asap, even try rock left (don’t just rock right)
2. He has a tendency to lean forward after combo, hit a left-right combo on his head, then body hook, etc etc
3. Because he throws lots of heavy punches, you need to be good at your left jab (quick ones) to counter
4. Use matrix dodge when he isn’t throwing a punch. You are better off to wait for your chance to hit him (esp his head) than throwing random punches and get countered (then combo-ed).
sadly it gets tougher still after Matt

Can I ask though - how did you get this picked up and into google news?
Very impressive that this blog is syndicated through Google and is it something that is just up to Google or you actively created?
Obviously this is a popular blog with great data so well done on your seo success..
Boxing greats you should write about next!
