Wow. Brian and Ryan just blogged about Judith’s big announcement that she’s leaving Weblogs, Inc. / AOL. Judith is an amazing person whom I’ve known since early 2005 when she helped recruit me to write for TUAW. She was a great mentor as I learned the ways of working and managing a team in a virtual telecommuting community, and she’s also been a good friend who has always been concerned about when I tend to stress out too much and who has always welcomed me with a large friendly hug whenever we meet in person.

I don’t know what Judith has planned for the future, but I personally hope that she’s leaving the stressful world of running things behind. Any place would be blessed to have her in that role, but she’s worked hard and deserves something more restful. I’d really love it if she went all freelance and focused full-time on her photography. It’s great stuff.

Judith, I’ve been looking for you online to chat, but haven’t seen you. When you read this, give me a call. ;-)

Wow. You hear that wooshing sound? It’s the sound of more brains leaving AOL.

What will actually be left at the company once all the talent leaves? An ad delivery system and a bunch of sales people?
