Our Apartment Building

Kris and I just went for lunch across the street, and as we were walking back, I realized that I never took a picture of the outside of our apartment building. So I did. It’s above. We’re the 3rd floor apartment on the right of the stairwell (you can click through to Flickr to see where I’ve marked our windows with a note).
When we returned we found the entire apartment just the same as we left it, which was a tiny miracle, as it was the first time we’ve left the puppy alone in the apartment without confining her to the kitchen with a baby gate. She’s been growing up quite a bit. She’s starting to consistently go on her walks or on the paper, rather than having little accidents, and yesterday, when it was nap time for her, rather than curling up beside my feet or begging to sit up in my lap, she positioned herself equidistant between myself and the birds in their birdcage, and would jump up barking if she heard any noise outside. Of course, we don’t want her doing that, but it was nice to see her being so brave and protective of both me and the parrots.
So when we came back to the Christmas tree still standing with the gifts under the tree and the trash basket in the living room still standing upright with all the trash still in it, we decided to take our little puppy for a walk. Kristin graduated her from the baby dog harness which she’s used for the past several weeks to a larger harness. Kristin walked with her, while I rode ahead and zoomed back every so often to check on them on my bike. The excitement of me on the bike, of course, distracted the puppy quite a bit, so that she didn’t end up going to the restroom, but she went promptly on a wee wee pad when we walked in the door.
It was a pleasantly nice walk / bike ride / puppy extravaganza.
