Censorship vs. Choosing to Air: Video of Saddam’s Execution

Last night, one of our members uploaded footage of Saddam Hussein’s execution. The story was reported by another member as needing a warning attached to it. I then had to decide whether to censor the video or let it run. Here’s my decision: WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: Saddam Execution Video ..full including the drop » Netscape.com

Good to be home…

It was good to be home over the holidays visiting my family, but it’s also good to be back home today, working from my home office and having slept in my own bed last night.
And now, for your enjoyment, a walk down memory lane:

This is a picture of me when I was a kid. [...]

Mississippi Christmas: Part 1

Kristin and Thatcher saying goodbye, as we dropped Thatcher off at Kristin’s parents’ place on Friday before flying to Mississippi to visit with my parents for the holiday.
The traveling was going great until we arrived in Memphis to discover that our 7:50pm flight was delayed until 9:43pm. We didn’t take off until just before 10.

First BlackJack freakout…

…happened yesterday, while Kristin and I were delayed in Memphis. I changed the battery in my phone, then started it back up, and tried to change the profile from Normal to Meeting. It kept snapping back to Normal. So I restarted the phone again. On boot, the phone froze on the Cingular screen. It was [...]

Best thing yet…

Who knew that I would garner so many takers on this 5 things meme? *shrugs*
Anyhoot, my favorite response so far is #4 on Eliot’s list:

I often get a sense of deja vu, thinking that I’ve definitely dreamed an experience before. This is the type of precognitive hindsight that would lead me to declare myself [...]

I’ve been tagged… five things you don’t know about me.

Jason tagged me, noting:
I’m sorry guys, but I’m picking you in part because I know you will think this is dumb and not respond. :-)
Little did Jason know that amongst the 5 things you didn’t know about me:
1. I secretly love interactive blog tag games like this insanely stupid one that I’m answering right now [...]

Who’s copying who?

So, the Navigators on Netscape brought this to my attention today and this could be entirely coincidental, and most likely is, but considering how many times since our launch we’ve been accused of copying Digg, it is pretty amusing.
Check it out. Here’s My Member Profile Page on Netscape that we launched a redesign of on [...]

So I bought Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest several days ago on iTunes, and it still hasn’t fully downloaded (about a 3rd left) and I keep getting this error.

Just add drama

Replace Brian Alvey with C.K. Sample III in this layout drawn up by Brian and it’s basically the same pattern. Although I have an interim supervisor in place . . . I think.

It’s lonely in the homestead with no pets and no Kristin…

So, Kristin and I are heading up to Connecticut for a party later tonight and we’re spending the night, so the pets are all hanging out with their great grandparents. Kristin left for work a little while ago and took the puppy and the two birds to drop off with her family.
It’s so quiet [...]

Damn it…

I don’t know what I like less about this news. Hearing that Jim is leaving, or hearing that Valleywag is spinning it as if this is exactly what they erroneously reported the other day. Note: resigning isn’t the same as getting cut.
