Ever since I last updated WordPress, it had started all this wysiwig madness, autocorrecting (and sometimes wrecking) html, and, as someone who prefers to raw code his html, it was driving me absolutely bonkers.
Just now, I grew a brain and realized that there was a preference somewhere to turn off all that madness. So I did. Now I can embed YouTube videos again without pulling out all my hair in frustration. w00t!
Update: I was also sick of how slowly my site was loading, so I went to WordPress Default 1.5 theme as I retool.
