Yesterday, Kristin, Kevin, and I went to Six Flags Great Adventure. Here’s the photoset. We were set back initially by an hour and a half wait at El Toro, followed by a brutal 3 and a half hour wait at Kingda Ka (which was absolutely the craziest ride I’ve ever been on), but we made up for it all by riding the Great American Scream Machine three times in a row and then riding Nitro twice at the end, so that we racked up a total of 10 rides for the day. It was a fun day.
Sidenote: Kingda Ka shoots you up the tallest rollercoaster in the world at 205mphs. It was nuts. When we got to the top, I looked up at the big blueness above and saw a plane flying over and I could make out details on it. I exclaimed, “Holy… look at that plane!” just before we dropped at a nearly 90 degree angle straight down. The ride lasted less than two minutes, but it was the craziest ride I’ve ever been on.
Update: Here’s a link to video of the full ride that Kevin shot with his Sony Cybershot as we stood in line.
ps–Why can I no longer embed YouTube video in my posts since WordPress 2.0?Â
Update again: It seems to be a Firefox and WordPress problem. Adding the code via Safari works like a charm:
