Rushdie post fatwa

Check out this (albeit a bit flowery in parts) interesting article:

To see him, leaning over the rooftop swimming pool embracing his eight-year-old son, Milan, a beautiful dark-haired boy, slippery as a seal—with no security, no bodyguards, not even a flicker of interest from the other Manhattanite parents—is evidence that there is, indeed, the possibility of normal life after the fatwa.
