The workings of the collective Internet mind

So, as most of you know, I rebelled against my smart phone roots and went for a basic phone this time around, grabbing a Motorola Razr. Why? Because it is a phone. I always have my 12-inch Powerbook around when I need to do any of the things a full-on smart phone does, and I liked the sleek small form factor of the Razr.

Now, what’s weird, is that immediately after I grabbed mine, they started going for free (typical of my buy-in luck), I discover that Brian wrote a good intro / review to the phone a while back, then brian d foy posted about his brand new Razr that he switched to from his 3650 (eerie similarity), and now Russell Beattie, the king of preaching “mobile phones as the promised land of gadget technology” announces that he is Off to Feature Phone Land and grabbing a Razr to sort of tech “slum it” for a bit.

Do you hear the Twilight Zone jingle in your head right now, or is it just me?
