I’m about to leave work and all of a sudden the wind outside picked up and we’re no longer in a sunny heat wave, but in a thunderstorm, and one of the trees across the street got knocked down and fell on top of a few people. It looks like they’re all okay. Luckily the trunk didn’t get them.
That was a big old tree. Poor tree.
UPDATE: An ambulance came and took one girl away on a stretcher. She was conscious and had her hand on her head, but no blood. She must’ve been hit by a branch and have a slight concussion. Hopefully, she’ll be okay.
‘NOTHER UPDATE: As I was driving home, I got a better glance at the tree that fell. It looked like the trunk shattered. Either it was rotted, or there could have been lightning involved (though I didn’t notice any burns / smoke).
