Perspectives on Mac mini

PVRblog has a good spin on the Mac mini:

Mac mini – a killer Home Theater PC in the making? My first thought after seeing the Mac mini debut today from Apple was that if you combined it with the extractable/hackable Comcast Motorola HD DVR or an EyeTV setup, you’d have a tiny, quiet, powerful little box you could slip into any home theater system for only $499, and run all your movies, music, and photos from it.

I just chatted with Greg and Hadley, who are at MWSF in the flesh, and they said the power supply is about a third the size of the Mac mini (just like the HUGE power supply that came with the Cube), so that’s a little disappointing if you were considering throwing one of these in your bag and totting it from place to place with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard in tow.

Also, G4? I think this is a mistake. Should have launched this thing out of the gates with a G5 chip. I mean, as is, this is a great product that will bring a lot of switchers to Apple, but a G5 would’ve brought a landslide.
