MacWorld Post
Hello, all. I'm going to blog announcements as they appear in MacMerc's IRC chat. I'm in both the #macmerc and #mercworld channels if anyone wants to drop in and say hi.
Steve has started talking. Beginning with bragging about success of the Apple Store, iMac sales, etc.
Demoing Tiger and Spotlight. Tiger on target to ship this spring (not happening today by the sound of it).
Had to log off of #mercworld because it was crashing Colloquy. They really need to turn off notification of logins and logoffs. And I just got booted twice. This sucks.
Okay. I switched over to MacNN http://mwsf.macnn.com/
New Final Cut Express HD announced and iLife '05 with upgrades to each component. iMovie now supports MPEG-4 movies and iPhoto supports RAW. NICE! More editing tools in iPhoto (who cares) and new $.29 per print through integrated iPhoto picture orders.
iWork announced! Successor to AppleWorks. Includes Keynote 2 and Pages, a word processor with style.
Mac mini announced, brushed metal, square shape with rounded edges features a slot-loading CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo drive, USB 2.0, FireWire 400, DVI and VGA connectivity, two models -- a 1.25GHz, 40GB G4 system for $499 and an 80GB 1.42GHz G4 system for $599.
iPod Shuffle: Integrated USB connector (thumb-drive) $99 for 512mb and $149 for 1GB.
Check here and here for more and better coverage.
