Other handrolled RSS feeds

Just noticed that Zeldman does RSS in the same sort of sparse
way that
I’ve implemented: “Feed here. Bowing to demand, or maybe just as
an experiment, we’ve hand rolled an RSS feed for this site.” [Jeffrey
Zeldman
Presents: The Daily Report]

Got the feed working…sort of…

Well, i finally got an RSS 2.0 valid feed for this site
going, but it is totally stripped down with absolutely no links
whatsoever and not even the most basic bits of html. Have to set that up
later. Also, need to figure out how I am going to update it daily. Wish
me luck…

RSS?: Let me know if this works…

I’m attempting an RSS feed. Give me feedback… UPDATE: All I see is
XML parsing error. Verdammt! And there was also this one
very nice moment when the Sites folder on my iDisk disappeared
COMPLETELY. Thought I was gonna piss meeself….

Apple International Petition

A word from Jason Ball:
Sign the Apple International petition. If you live in Europe (or
any where
else beside the US for that matter) and you use Apple computers, sign the petition. Apple’s increasingly US-centric product offering is simply unacceptable- Sherlock 3, .mac, iPhoto, and now iTunes. The PC industry stinks in the US, however sales [...]

Animations are up and running…

I moved my flash animations over to the new site space: Wave,
SunBurn, and Abstract. Enjoy!

Now that’s a whole helluva lot better…

I finally realized that all I had to do was add VALIGN=top in
the td field of my tables to make the text stop oddly centering in the page.
d’uh!

T608 for Sprint

If this is iSync capable, then I think I may have just
spotted my new phone: “Sprint
to carry Sony Ericsson Bluetooth phone: Sprint plans to carry one
of the first CDMA cellphones to come with built-in Bluetooth, the T608 from Sony
Ericsson. Read… [Gizmodo]

Linking to the Apple Music Store

buzzing this morning over new information on how to link

Need a little permalink graphic…

I need to pick a little itsy bitsy graphic so I can establish
a
permalink to eah individual post. I mean, the numbered anchors are in
place, so you can navigate to different posts of different days by simply
tagging number sign and the number at the end of the day’s URL. Still,
it’d be nice to have [...]

One thing that bugs me about the new iPod…

Or really, it’s more about the announcement of the new
(http://www.apple.com/ipod/) iPod; anyway, Jobs announces that
there’s a free firmware upgrade for all us owners of old iPods. So I’m
thinking: “Great, I’m getting AAC, Solitaire, and on the go playlist
manipulation, too!” Right? Wrong. The only thing that I get
from the update is a [...]

>Links in the RSS feed…

I think I
figured out how to handle links in my handrolled RSS feed.
So far what I have been doing is simply cutting and pasting the code for
the entry from the daily homepage file and into the index.xml file using
Terminal and pico and two open windows. Then after I paste the text into
the feed, I’ve [...]

TiVo Extraction with OS X

http://www.fajkowski.com/tivo/ This is the coolest thing
ever. At least for today. I need to get a Series 1 TiVo… I
wonder how long this takes to set up, and then I wonder once it is set
up, how quick it is to transfer the info on a regular basis….

Citing weblogs via MLA

Many of you who know me from the halls of Academia know that
I am an MLA Nazi and will understand why this made me smile: “How to cite
a blog. MLA entry on citing web stuff. [via
Vertical Hold] Definitely nice to know I can now cite
websites.[inluminent/weblog]“
